We've seen David Williams (foreground) more focused than he was tonight in the H.O.R.S.E. World Championship.

The  $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship got underway tonight, and no surprise it drew a field full of big name pros with word there was even talk of a 7-way chop or delay in the final table of the $2500 Razz tournament because the players remaining wanted to play the HORSE event instead.

All in allTM, 241 entered with first set to take home $611,666. Last we looked Marco Johnson, who finished 13th in Event #15 (7CS Split Championship), was leading the field with 59K, followed by Dario Alioto (54k) and John Racener (52k). Annie Duke, a woman, is keeping the dream alive for the women, with 34k.

Last we looked, 8-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey was in the middle of the pack with just over 30k. Only time will tell if he can pick up another bracelet and a “reported” 5 mil from his prop bet with Howard Lederer.
