2012 EPT Barcelona Has Huge Turnout; Guys With Funny Sounding Names Lead

Last year, the EPT Barcelona Main Event continued the surprising trend of major tournaments seeing an up-tick in turn-out post-Black Friday.

This year, same story. Except it’s the only friggin event that has shown an up-tick in numbers.

Over 1,070 people entered the 2012 EPT Barcelona Main Event. Around 600 will return for Day 2. Leading the way are Ziv Vachar (180,000) and Guy Bachar (170,000).

Some notables who survived the Day 1′s include Theo Jorgensen (129,000), Gus Hansen (110,000), Ivan Demidov (100,800), Illari Sahamies (90,000), Jake Cody (65,000), Xuan Liu (50,000), Daniel Negreanu (48,500) and Boris Becker (42,700).

Bolivar Palacios finished with 60,000, of course.

Not playing Day 2 (or 1) was Shane Warne, whose girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley can still rock a bikini (above), giving hope to all girls that it’s not downhill after 19.
