2012 Poker Hall of Fame Finalists Announced

It’s time to put Scotty in the Hall, baby.

The World Series of Poker has announced its 2012 finalists for induction into the Poker Hall of Fame.

It’s a very diverse 10-person list. The (unnecessary) “you must be 40 years old to qualify” rule has certainly introduced some names that many wouldn’t expect [looking at you, Eric Drache].

There are some major carryovers from last year as well, including Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen.

We’ll publish our vote(s) soon, but let’s say this first: if Scotty Nguyen isn’t elected, the system is seriously flawed. The voters need to quit holding the 2008 Players Championship incident against him (which is the only reason he hasn’t be elected yet), move on, and realize he’s the most qualified candidate on the list.

Speaking of the aforementioned list, here is this year’s finalist:

CHRIS BJORIN
DAVID CHIU
ERIC DRACHE
THOR HANSEN
GEORGE HARDIE
JENNIFER HARMAN-TRANIELLO
JOHN JUANDA
TOM McEVOY
SCOTTY NGUYEN
BRIAN “SAILOR” ROBERTS
