A few major events wrapped this weekend with past champs capturing bracelets. Here’s the latest from the Rio.
:: Event #15 ($1,500 H.O.R.S.E.) – Tom Schneider (aka “The Donkey Bomber” aka “The Stack ‘Em to the Top Wife Guy”), who is a former WSOP Player of the Year, crazy, captured his third bracelet by winning the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. event. Schneider banked $258,960. He defeated another former
terrorist bracelet winner Owais Ahmed ($159,950) heads-up for the title. Get full final table updates and payouts here.
:: Event #16 ($10,000 NLH Heads-Up) – Down to the elite 8, all eyes were on whether Phil Hellmuth was going to capture his not-elusive-yet 14th bracelet. But the man who defeated him in the quarters, Mark Radoja of Guelph, Ontario (same hometown as Ole G Smith), went on to win the whole “kit and kaboodle” as fellow Canadian Lance Bradley would say. This was Radoja’s second bracelet, and the fifth overall for Canada this WSOP. The Rad Man as Lance Bradley calls him banks $336,190 for the win. He defeated Don Nguyen ($209,648) of Chino Hills, CA (which when we first glanced, thought it read China Hills and chortled) for the title. Get full results here.
:: Event #17 ($1,500 NLH) – Another no limit donkament, another solid final field. With 15 remaining, David “Bakes” Baker continues his general crushing of the 2013 WSOP, heading into the final day as chip leader. Among the final 15 include but are certainly not limited to Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Joe Cada, and Barry Greenstein. Get full chip counts here.
