A total of 7,319 registered, creating a first place prize of $8,944,138. This is an approximate 79% decrease from our expectations though. Someone needs to fix the payout structure here…first place should be $10M. Come on. Can’t you make it $9M at least? Eastgate’s year they had 6,844 entrants (so around 29% less than this year) and he made $9,119,517 (or around $1,200,000 after taxes). WTF.
Anyway, the WSOP folks are as excited about the 7,319 as the guy in the above vid is about finding a double rainbow.
