While that’s risen the level of play for everyone and forced A-list pros like Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth to completely reevaluate and adapt their games–it’s also left a total void of new, marketable personalities for poker.

However–this Bobby Oboodi guy (above with Jess Welman) seems to break the mold a bit. Maybe not in a totally the man the myth the legend, Black Phil Ivey, Big Sldick, the one and only Dwyte Pilgrim kind of way–but the kid has personality. He’s kind of like a White Dwyte PilgrimTM.
Oboodi rode the final table big stack to victory at the WPT Borgata Poker Open, banking $922,441. He defeated Jim Hwang ($554,303) heads-up for the title.
