Tommy Vedes rebounded like Stacy Kiebler in 2012 to capture his second WPT title.
Tommy Vedes entered the 2012 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown final table as the short-stack.
However, like some metaphor that signifies overcoming odds and adversity, Vedes persevered. And when the final table was over, Vedes had all the chips, capturing his second World Poker Tour title.
For the win, Vedes banks $779,520. He defeated ex-November Niner John “Jimmy” Dolan ($459,360) heads-up for the title.
Joe Serock, who started the final table as big stack, finished third for $306,240. This is Serock’s second third in a WPT event this year.

The HPT saw a resurgence in Colorado this week like Stacy Kiebler in 2012.
Last week, the HPT visited the Palms in Las Vegas. The event drew a small field but produced their most stacked final table to date.
This week, the HPT rolled into Colorado. And… dare we say…the opposite happened?
A record field of 820 showed up to the HPT Golden Gates Casino event, creating a $1.2M total prize pool.
Unlike last week’s pro-laden final table, this one was dominated by locals. The event was won by Coloradan Steen Ronlov, who banked $270,905. Steen defeated Coloradan Michael McCloud ($151,720) heads-up for the title.

Jonathan Duhamel is resurging (that a word?) like Stacy Keibler this year.
Huge turn-out for the 2012 EPT Monte Carlo €100,000 Super High Roller event, as 45 players entered, creating a first place prize of €1,640,000.
Day 1 ended with Talal Shakerchi as big stack. He was followed by Jonathan Duhamel, who is pulling his best Erik Seidel impersonation to start off 2012.
As of post-time (7am PT), there are 22 remaining. Shakerchi is still big-stack, and he’s still followed by Duhamel.
Plenty of notables remain, including Tobias Reinkemeier, Patrik Antonius, Dan Shak, ElkY, Phil Ivey, Vanessa Selbst, Daniel Negreanu, and Erik Seidel.
