Seeing Daniel Alaei winning a WPT title makes us think: whatever happened to Carmel Petresco?

Daniel Alaei beat a stacked final table to capture his first WPT title at the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic.

Alaei dominated the tournament throughout, as he was at or near the top of the chip leader board for most of the event.

For the win, Alaei banks $1,428,430. He defeated Josh Arieh ($952,290) heads-up for the title.

Here’s the rest of the final table breakdown: 3rd Faraz Jaka ($571,374), 4th Shawn Buchanan ($333,302), 5th Scotty Nguyen ($249,976), 6th Steve O’Dwyer ($202,362).
