Of all the women who have almost won a World Poker Tour open event–from Vanessa Selbst to Vanessa Rousso to…errrr…Vanessa Rousso–one person we definitely did not anticipate being in position to breakthrough is Gigi Gagne.
Who is Gagne, you might ask? Great question.
Here’s what we know: she’s a woman. She has been playing poker for four years. Her biggest previous cash is for $18k. She final tabled the WSOP Ladies Event. She has no plans to play hands against Keith Ferrera. She met her boyfriend only a week ago and is going off to Vienna to get married. And she finds her self as the overall final table chip leader at the WPT Lucky Hearts.
Gigi starts the final table with 2,708,000. She’s followed by Matt Juttelstad with 1,651,000.
Can Gigi do it? It is 2012, the world is supposed to end this year, so a win here is definitely in play.
