With the 2013 WSOP in the books, time to look at other poker news from around the country.

Last Thursday, HPT announced the Gold Rush series, launching events at the Commerce Casino in LA and Club One in Fresno.

Along with Heartland’s existing stop at Thunder Valley outside of Sacramento, HPT goes from 0 events in California to a 3-week sweep of the Golden Apple.

Speaking of Commerce sort of, the World Poker Tour last week announced their Alpha8 series. Alpha8 is a new male enhancement dietary supplement that let’s you fuck for hours high-stakes series of events that are…8-handed. Like HPT last year with Maria Ho, WPT decided to put a female in the booth, announcing Lynn Gilmartin as a commentator. Solid move, Lynn has been a PN standout.

The show airs as an exclusive on the soon-to-be launched FOX Sports 1.
