Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies Does Not Win 2012 EPT Barcelona Main Event

Mikalai Pobal has the right idea.

Close, but no cigar.

Ilari Sahamies owned the EPT Barcelona this year. He finished fourth in the Super High Roller Event. He made this fantastic gif. And he dominated the Main Event. Sahamies brought the chip lead to the final table. Unlike Wilson Phillips, he wasn’t able to hold on to the chip lead until the end.

Sahamies surrendered the chip lead eventually to Joni Jouhkimainen (WTF) who was the short-stack when final table play began. Jouhalskdjfa;lsdkjf looked to be on cruise control to victory, but he fell in third, cashing €404,050. Jouadskljfasdfjoeiasbkl has a string of cashes the past three years, but this was by far his largest live score to date.

Heads-up came down to Mikalai Pobal and Sahamies. Pobal took the title, banking €1,007,550. Sahamies earns €629,700 for second, giving him nearly €1M for the EPT Barcelona.

John Juanda went out early in 8th for €76,100.
