Rowsome is from Edmonton, has a full-time job, plays softball, does yoga, and crushes Omaha 8oB online.
Worth a watch (although they could’ve trimmed it by a few minutes). The biggest takeaway to us is this is a great example of what TV poker is missing: there are decent human interest stories out there with young online grinders. You just have to try a little harder/invest more time in finding them.
The WSOP sofa segments, for example, are inexpensive and easy. But after awhile, it’s the same thing over and over. If poker is going to create new stars or expect the audience to invest emotionally into people, then it may require spending a little more time at their homes or following them around their daily lives. The WSOP tried that this year, but the above vid shows how that can be further modeled (keeping in mind that the segments won’t be 9 minutes, but closer to 2-3).
In somewhat but not really related news, watch Sara Underwood doing yoga again here.
