Forbes released its annual 400 richest people in America list, and among people with poker connections, Dan Fleyshman Sheldon Adelson tops the list.
The 80-year old curmudgeon hypocrite casino tycoon clocks in at #11 at $28.5B.
Adelson is the single largest opponent to online poker legislation in Las Vegas–and literally the only opponent–but is worth math math math about 10x more than the next “poker” entrant on the list.
That aforementioned next poker entrant on the list would be J.B. Priztker at #166 with $3B. The 48 year-old Pritzker, if you recall, invested in the most epic embarrassment in poker history not headed by Ray Bitar.
Steve Wynn, who once partnered with PokerStars in the pre-Black Friday hey days, is #184 with $2.9B.
David Einhorn comes in #371 with $1.4B. The Fertitta BrothersTM of Ultimate Poker (and UFC) fame are just a tick lower at #386 and $1.3B.
If you really want to have a liberal definition of the “poker industry” you “could” include Mark Zuckerberg (#20 with a very non-liquid $19B).
