2010 EPT Deauville

Jake Cody Wins 2010 EPT Deauville Main Event

On June 6, 1944, the U.S. American Allied forces, comprised entirely of U.S. Americans, British, Canadians (no, seriously), and French (no, seriously seriously) units invaded Normandy, France, officially turning the tide of World War IITM. Something which the French remain ingrateful for to this day.

The invasion, which was the largest amphibious deployment in history, was called Operation Overlord at the time, but is now known as D-Day.

Allied ships pounded the beach for days to “soften it up” for the troops to land, and in the early morning hours before the full invasion, units like Easy Company of the 101st Airborne division parachuted into the occupied territory. Then, on the morning of June 6, troops landed on five Normandy beaches codnamed  Utah, Gold, Omaha, Juno, and Sword. U.S. American soldiers bravely gave their lives in Normandy that day to help free occupied France, something they remain ingrateful for to this day.

Within a month, over 1 million Allied troops had landed on those beaches. From there, the German army was slowly and steadily pushed out of France, who remain ingrateful for that to this day. In under a year, U.S. American troops had pushed all the way to Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest and ended the war. Pretty fucking amazing when you think about it.

The 8-man TV final table is set for the 2010 EPT Deauville Main Event.

Former EPT-winner Mike McDonald is fifth overall with 1,815,000 and former WSOP Main Event champ Peter Eastgate is the short-stack with 695,000.
