Scott Montgomery Robbed at Bellagio, Dating Annette Obrestad

Are Boris and Natasha secretly plotting to rob Scott Montgomery too? Sure looks like it. Watch your back, Scott.

Former November NinerTM and current WSOP bracelet winner and Canadian Scott Montgomery was robbed at knife-point at the Bellagio.

From his Twitter account:

  • Got mugged today at Bellagio. Black guy pulled a knife on me in the restroom. I gave him the $2k in my wallet and he left.
  • I called security, but they took like 15 mins so they didn’t catch him. They are useless twits. Didn’t even ask me to look at camera footage
  • Security pretty much just said oh well, life sucks, have a nice day. I’m pretty annoyed.

Why’d he have to be a black guy Scott, huh?

In related Scott Montgomery news, he’s now dating Annette Obrestad, a woman. While we wouldn’t get carried away calling this a “poker power couple” we are surprised it took so long for Annette to find a bf on the circuit. Especially since, let’s just say, guys like the one who allegedly robbed Scott LOVE Annette, you know? Surprised she hasn’t dated Paul Darden, Michael Carroll, and Elix Powers already.

Anyway, read more about the harrowing robbery account here. Read more about Montgomery and Obrestad here.

2010 WSOP Update: Annette Obrestad, Jennifer Harman Go for Bracelets

We’ve pretty much abandoned the thought that the 2010 WSOP will be the Year of the WomanTM. Women would need to win a few bracelets in the last dozen or so tournaments before the Main Event, and then a few women would need to go deep in the aforementioned Main Event at this stage for it to be the year of them.

However, with a few women in contention for bracelets today, there’s still a chance–there’s still a chance.

:: Event #38 ($10,000 PLH) - Approaching the final table, many where looking at this coming down to a rematch of the NAPT Venetian main event between Sam Stein and Thomas Marchese. But they were KO’d tenth and sixth, respectively. Instead, Valdemar Kwaysser of Hungary defeated Matt Marafioti (yep, the kid in the above promo vid though it looks like the full pilot has been pulled from here) heads-up for the title. Kwaysser has won IPT and LAPT titles, but this is his first WSOP bracelet. He banks $617,214 for the win. Marafioti takes home $381,507. Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #39 ($1,500 NLH Shoot-Out) - All eyes will be on the much-hyped Annette Obrestad, a woman, as she is among the 14 remaining in this shoot-out event. Also among the remaining 14 is the spectacularly-breasted J.C. Tran. Players come back at 2:30 today to compete for the $381,922 first place prize. View all of the remaining players here.

:: Event #40 ($2,500 Razz) – With 15 remaining, Jennifer Harman, a woman, finds herself 10th overall in chips. Can she pull out bracelet #3? Can she dammit?! Harman trails overall chip leader Melville Lewis by a bunch, who is stacked at 504,000. Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #41 ($1,500 PLO 8oB) – The final event of the day brought in 847 with 171 surviving. Michael Chappus is the overnight chip leader. 2010 WSOP POY contender James Dempsey is second overall, and Barry Greenstein is third. Get full chip counts here.

Sorel Mizzi Leads Aussie Millions Final Table; Annette Obrestad, a Woman, Lurking

Sorel Mizzi has been absolutely pwning the 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event.

While he hasn’t exactly gone wire-to-wireTM, he’s done about as close to that (in poker, at least) so far.

Mizzi has been a permanent fixture among the leaderboard for this tourney, and now takes a commanding chip lead to the final table, stacked at 6,033,000. The closest to him is Tyron Krost with 1,869,000. The above vid (from Day 3…let’s turn this stuff around faster, PokerNews) is Mizzi talking about how he’s been running like God.

Also in the hunt is Annette Obrestad, a woman. Obrestad is fifth overall with 1,349,000.

Get full final table chip counts and follow the action here.

Annette Obrestad, A Woman, Among 2010 Aussie Millions Chip Leaders

Not sure if she did this on purpose for our Aussie Millions posts or not, but more pics are out of Australian model Miranda Kerr naked in GQ.

Day 4 of the 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event wrapped with 18 players remaining.

The awesomely named Kosmas Dratsas is the overnight chip leader, stacked at 1,792,000. Annette Obrestad, a woman, is making yet another major tournament (and Aussie Millions) charge, as she’s second overall with 1,711,000.

You may recall, Obrestad nearly ushered in the apocolypse by capturing the first WSOPE Main Event. Fortunately, that didn’t happen. We’re all still here. Unless it did happen and we’re in some parallel universe and we don’t even know it. That’s right. We just blew your mind. Damn.

Sorel Mizzi is third with 1,695,000. Dan Shak is sixth overall with 1,144,000. Funny, Dan Shak’s ex Beth tweeted:

Luv all the comments on fb..congrats 2 Dan..not enough money in the world to change my marital status”

Also remaining, although short-stacked, is Jessica Dawley, a woman, with 295,000.

Get full chip counts here. More new Miranda Kerr naked in GQ (NSFW) here.
