Annette Obrestad, A Woman, Leads Day 1B of 2010 PCA Main Event

Greek babe Natali Thanou, a woman, was not among the Day 1B chip leader.

Another 846 entered Day 1B of the 2010 PCA Main Event, bringing the total field to 1,515. This breaks last year’s record of 1,347 and should produce well over a $3M first place prize.

Pretty much the only big name that didn’t show up was Phil Hellmuth. As he tweeted:

Feel like I am the only poker player in the world that didn’t show up to the Bahamas for the PCA! Even Ivey made it! ESPN covering it…

At the end of Day 1B play, Annette Obrestad, a woman, was chip leader, stacked at 147,000. Some other notable big stacks include but are certainly not limited to Paul Wasicka (116,300), Phil Ivey (115,000), Vanessa Rousso, a woman (110,000), Robert Mizrachi (108,000), and Liz Lieu, a woman (85,000).

Eva Laskari Brings You Today’s Poker News

Eva Laskari would be the dictionary definition of "Greek Goddess." Plus she's not afraid to get naked in front of cameras, so she has that going for her too...

With the WSOP Europe wrapped, it’s time to catch up on some poker news from the past week.

:: Our favorite part-time poker player, Dancing with the Stars‘ Joanna Krupa, and one-time poker player dater Derek Hough, go second this week. Not sure if this is what she’ll look like, but either way, liking the brunette look. Anyway, Krupa did an interview with Fox News this morning and turns out her and Paris Hilton hate each other. Didn’t think it was possible for Krupa to get better. But there you go. [link]

:: More reality TV and more on this later, but Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho made it through another week of The Amazing Race. [link]

:: Darvin Moon is getting all Dennis Phillipy, saying he doesn’t want the limelight, then going on ESPN’s Inside Deal and doing a Washington Post feature in a week. [link & link]

:: Full Tilt is getting sued so much, they should just start making cigarettes. [link]

:: The EPT London Main Event brought out 760 entrants. They’re in the money now with Annette Obrestad, a woman, among the chip leaders. link]

:: Occasional host of The TOKE, Dave Farra, made his MMA-ish debut of sort, kicking his radio co-hosts ass at the South Point. [link]

:: The murder of Poker Listings co-founder Andreas Oscarsson is now being investigated as a Mob style hit. Wtf. We thoughts Swedes were all nice, good-looking, morally casual types who just want to eat some ligonberry jam, have group sex, and dance to ABBA. Time to reassess. [link]

Annette Obrestad, A Woman, Among EPT Grand Final Day 2 Chip Leaders; Phil Laak Still Alive (!)

Vanessa_Claudio
Vanessa Claudio, a woman, is not among the many female chip leaders at the EPT Grand Final. However, she IS among the hottest girls we've ever seen come out of Mexico. Granted, that list is like five girls deep, but still, we'd gladly self-inflict ourselves with the swine flu for a romp with Claudio…if we were single. Love you honeys! View more Vanessa Claudio in Max Magazine here.

Some big stories are developing in Monte Carlo at the EPT Grand Final: 1) Can Annette Obrestad, a woman, capture her second major live tournament title in two years? 2) Can Sandra Naujoks, a woman, capture her second EPT title? 3) Did Phil Laak really make it to Day 3 of a major event? How did that happen? Phil Laak? 4) Seriously though, Phil Laak?

Of the 935 starting field, 149 remain after Day 2 wrapped. Marc Naaldenis overall chip leader, stacked at 770,000. Among other chip leaders are the aforementioned Annette Obrestad, a woman (600,000), the aforementioned Naujoks, also a woman (280,000), Ilari "ziigmund" Sahamies (200,000), Sorel Mizzi (170,000), Alexander Kravchenko(157,000), seriously wtf Phil Laak (150,000), Dennis Phillips (135,000), J.J. Liu, a woman (130,000), and "Salty" Joe Hachem (130,000).

Also still alive going into Day 3 is Phil Laak. Wait, what?

Get full chip counts here.

Phil Laak.
