Wicked Podcast Podcast: Breaking Down the Power 20

Surprisingly, Danica Thrall didn't receive any votes in the Power 20 this year. Gotta work on that for 2012.

Last week, Bluff Magazine announced their 2011 Power 20.

So in the latest Wicked Chops Podcast (now available below or on iTunes), we chat with Bluff Editor-in-Chief Lance Bradley about the methodology behind the vote, who just missed the list, the biggest surprises on it, the biggest surprises off it, and who to look for making a leap next year.

Howard Lederer Tops Bluff Magazine’s Poker Power 20

Pictured above, three of the big swinging dwyte pilgrims who headline Bluff's Power 20.

The annual Bluff Power 20 was released today with Howard Lederer clocking in at #1.

The list was compiled from over 100 ballots sent to industry gaming leaders and media members.

Following Lederer is PokerStars founder Isai Scheinberg (the smoke you see way far off in the distance outside right now is the steam coming out of Isai’s ears).

Rounding out the top 5 are WSOP head Ty Stewart, Senator Harry Reid, and poker agent Brian Balsbaugh.

Chops/The Entities placed #18 this year.

Bluff Magazine Reader’s Choice Award: Thanks Again

Thank you...thank you very much.

Bluff Magazine today announced it’s Reader’s Choice Awards winners.

For the second year running, Wicked Chops Poker was voted Favorite Poker Blog.

A huge “thank you” to everyone who voted for us. Also, congratulations to The Poker Beat, which bested our This Week in Poker for Favorite Web-Based Poker Show.

Get a full breakdown of the top vote getters (travesty Erik Seidel doesn’t win Funniest Poker Twitter…plus welcome-to-the-big-time wins for Joe Stapleton and Amanda Leatherman) here.

As promised (we think), below is a thank you gallery including some of our favorite pics of all former Wicked Chops Girl of the Years (Victoria Moore, Vikki Blows, Keeley Hazell, and Joanna Krupa).

Vote Wicked Chops Poker, This Week in Poker for Bluff Reader’s Choice Awards

Calling all dudes who like photos of Victoria Moore...

Voting is open for Bluff Magazine‘s annual Reader’s Choice Awards (engage in the aforementioned voting here).

The Entities Who Comprise Wicked Chops Poker were nominated in two categories: Favorite Poker Blog and Favorite Web-Based Poker Show.

The competition in both of these categories is much like your johnson after looking at photos of Victoria Moore: stiff.

For poker blog, we’re up against Pokerati (of course), Tao of Poker (should be dubbed the “Dr. Pauly Best Poker Blog”category), and Hard-Boiled Poker. For poker show, it’s Poker Beat, that 2+2 one, Poker Edge, and Inside Deal.

Last year, we threatened removing all photos of Keeley Hazell (i.e. Victoria Moore v1.0), Vikki Blows, and Joanna Krupa if you didn’t vote for us. Basically, a vote for “the other guy” meant you more or less enjoyed the occasional penis.

No different this year. Because if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years: the more things change, the more they stay the same. Or is it that history repeats itself? Or was it he who rejects change is the architect of decay?

Whatever. Eff you philosophical phrases referencing how some things never change!

But in all seriousness, honored to be nominated. Everyone really is deserving. Loved seeing Hard-Boiled getting a well-deserved nod and even we’re not sure how we’ll vote for the best poker show category [if we weren't nominated that is]. And oh yeah, if you don’t vote for us, then you’re basically no different than this guy.

Take part in democracy and vote for Wicked Chops Poker and This Week in Poker here.

WCP Named Top Poker Blog of 2009 in Bluff’s Reader’s Choice Awards

Apparently threats actually DO work. Nice.

The Entities who comprise Wicked Chops Poker want to thank you for voting us Top Poker Blog of 2009 in Bluff Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Awards.

Or maybe you just voted for Keeley Hazell. Either way, we all win, right?

While the threat of taking Keeley away clearly put us over the top, we do have to give a quick tip of the hat to the just as deserving Tao of Poker, Pokerati, and Poker News Daily, all of which we read every day.

To show our appreciation, below is a gallery of some of Keeley’s best work through the years. Relive when we first discovered Keeley here.

See the full list of winners here.
