Someone Needs To Hide Gus Hansen’s Computers

Reverse the positions here and that's basically what's been happening to Gus Hansen online over the past few years...

Interesting post over on Poker-King about Gus Hansen‘s online poker troubles.

Hansen’s account is the single biggest loser on Full Tilt since 2008, dropping around $7M. However, Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte is likely the biggest loser overall, as his rumored three accounts have posted a hit of around $15M.

Regardless, fuck, Hansen’s friends need to lock him in a room without Internet or computers and let his body go through some online poker detox. If nothing else, to paraphrase Dr. Dre, Hansen gets plenty of ass so call him an astronaut, so at least he’s still got that going for him.

On the other end of the spectrum, Phil Ivey is the biggest high stakes winner online during the same period of time, posting over $18M in winnings. Other top earners include Patrik Antonius (est. $10.7M), Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond (est. $8M) and Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan (est. $6.2M). And durrrr’s $6.2M would be over $11M if not for that $5M bloodbath against isildur1.

Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey Big Online Poker Winners in 2009

The secret to Patrik Antonius' winning online poker ways...

2009 was a sick, sick year for nosebleed cash games on Full Tilt.

Not surprisingly, two of the most consistent online winners over the years had the biggest 2009: Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey.

Poker-King has a breakdown of the biggest winners and losers on Full Tilt for 2009. Antonius banked almost $9M, while Ivey cleared over $6M.

As for losers? While Tom “durrrr” Dwan had the worst month ever in November, he rebounded in December enough to only be the second most losing player (down $4.34M). Top reverse honors for most money lost goes to Gus Hansen, who ended the year down $5.57M.

Isildur1 finished fifth, down $2.2M.

Top Ten Winning and Losing Players in High Stakes Online Poker

Once again, F U Phil Ivey's wallet.

Once again, F U Phil Ivey's wallet.

Interesting thread over at 2+2 on the top winning and losing players in high stakes online games.

The list isn’t totally accurate and is more of a recent history, but still gives a good take on who is crushing and being crushed.

No real shocker, but Phil Ivey topped the list with almost $13M in winnings. Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond was second with over $7.6M. Patrik Antonius was third with over $7.2M but actually might be closer to first as he has about $5M from other screen names and websites not accounted for in this list. Also in the top 10 was Mark Vos, a ginger, with almost $3M.

Not in the top 50? Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan. He’s been running bad lately. So good timing on his Full Tilt deal by him.

The bottom 10 was dominated by Cirque founder Guy Laliberté, who had four of the top five losing accounts totaling around $20M. Gus Hansen was down around $5.5M.

2009 WSOP Round-Up: Greg ‘FBT’ Mueller Wins Second Bracelet

Gus Hansen and Phil Ivey horsing around in front of a cute Asian filly* yesterday during the $50k H.O.R.S.E. World Championship. (*damn, we're doing it in captions now)

Maybe this year isn’t the Year of the BrotherTM, but instead it’s the Year of the Really Good, Really Boring PlayerTM. Looking at the $50k H.O.R.S.E. leaders, that’s definitely the case. Here’s the rundown:

:: Event #40 ($50,000 H.O.R.S.E.): This is a long, grueling race, but some thoroughbreds are beginning to separate themselves as they make a charge for the finish line.* Event #2 winner and general charisma machine Vitaly Lunkin is the overnight chip leader, stacked at (1,527,000). He’s followed by Erik Sagstrom (1,315,000) and half-man, half-amazing Freddy Deeb (1,300,000). Also top five in chips are David Bach (1,265,000) and still-in-contention-for-POY Ville Wahlbeck (842,000). See? Has there been a better group of players that you don’t care about? Could you be less excited? Gus Hansen (801,000), our Official Pick to Win It Huck Seed (672,000), Tony G (642,000) and Erik Seidel (464,000) also remain. Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #50 ($1,500 Limit Hold’em Shootout): That didn’t take long. After a number of runner-up finishes and near-misses, Greg ‘FBT’ Mueller captures his second bracelet in a week. It’s just like high school. Mueller defeated Marc Naalden heads-up for the title and banks $194,854. Millie Shiu, a woman, finished third. David Williams finished fourth. Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #51 ($1,500 NLH): About 30 remain. Alex Jacob anyone? See the rest here.

:: Event #52 ($3,000 NLH): A solid showing of 854 whittled down to 149 by the end of play. Timothy Horan is the overnight chip leader, stacked at 149,000. Some notable big stacks remaining include but are certainly not limited to Antonio Esfandiari (127,900), Jeffrey Lisandro (113,800), Peter “Nordberg” Feldman (93,100), and no way seriously GTFO Mike Caro (58,500). Get full chip counts here.

:: Event #53 ($1,500 Seven Card Stud 8B): The final event of the day brought in 467 and ended with around 150. Allie Prescott is the overnight chip leader. Annie Duke and Daniel Negreanu are around the top of the leaderboard. Get full chip counts here.

* Fuck! There we go again.
