ESPN Inside Deal Season 2 Premiere

by Wicked Chops Entity on February 2, 2010 TweetThis

in Poker News

Meant to post this one last week. Sorry ’bout that, Feldman.

ESPN’s Inside Deal is back for its second season. Looks a little looser and more fun this go around. 2009 WSOP Main Event champ Joe Cada stops in the studio for a visit.

In completely unrelated news, never play this prank or this prank on Paul Darden.

ESPN Inside Deal Is Genius

by Wicked Chops Entity on October 27, 2009 TweetThis

in Poker News

ESPN poker czar Andrew Feldman is a genius.

Now, we don’t throw words like “genius,” “love,” or “falcon” around lightly. For example, if we meet a new friend, we don’t go telling everyone we “love” this person after a few weeks. That’s because that only happens if you’re on reality TV or if you have a vagina.

Same goes for the word “genius.” It’s like Gwenyth Paltrow’s character in The Royal Tenenbaums told Eli Cash: she just doesn’t throw that word around. (which Eli had lead in with: “Why would a reviewer make the point of saying someone’s *not* a genius? Do you especially think I’m *not* a genius?”)

Anyway, as you can see, there is almost no chance we’d call somebody a genius unless we really meant it. So why does Andrew Feldman get such distinction?

On a scale of 1-10, the chances of us embedding this week’s edition of Inside Deal with Kevin Schaffel was around a -47. Except Andrew Feldman, genius that he is, decided to name “us” as the “funniest person” in poker during a game of Pokerdy. This caused an approximate 100 point swing on a scale of 1-10 of us embedding the episode.

The reference comes in around the 10:40 remaining mark. In semi-related news, Laura Lane can do some funky shit with her arms (watch intro). She appears to be very bendable. MAXIM shoot, Laura. MAXIM shoot.

Joe Sebok On ESPN Inside Deal

by Wicked Chops Entity on September 22, 2009 TweetThis

in Poker News

After an intro featuring host of The Soup and star of Community Joel McHale (who is joined by a still wearing way too much clothing Laura Lane) ESPN’s Inside Deal welcomes Joe Sebok to its studio to talk about his signing with UltimateBet.

So today apparently is the all Seebs media day. As expected, the forums are blowing up on the news (not good). Most of the blogs have been more forgiving.

Anyway, check out Sebok on Inside Deal above. And go below after the jump for the pilot of Community. The intro scene is worth the price of admission.

Daniel Negreanu and Michael Binger are Nit-Twits

by Wicked Chops Entity on September 15, 2009 TweetThis

in Poker News

Daniel Negreanu and Michael Binger join Inside Deal this week. Negreanu talks about WSOPE (just a couple of days away, hard to believe). The two also square off in the first ever Inside Deal Nit-Twits (pretty funny, just watch it).

In related news, Laura Lane is still wearing too much clothing.

Mark Seif Addresses Absolute Poker Scandal (Again)

by Wicked Chops Entity on September 8, 2009 TweetThis

in Uncategorized

It’s been about two years since Mark Seif last publicly discussed the Absolute Poker scandal (view his RawVegas.tv interview here), but he joined ESPN’s Inside Deal to revisit it again. Watch the above video around 13:00 minutes in.

In somewhat related news, Poker Stars has gotta be happier than pigs in shit that the first non-Poker Stars guest on Inside Deal is talking about a cheating scandal on his site. Can’t script it better than that.

Inside Deal Names Their “Mount Cashmore”

by Wicked Chops Entity on September 1, 2009 TweetThis

in Poker News

Taking a page from the Bill Simmons “Mount Rushmore of…” ongoing column asides, ESPN’s Inside Deal has announced their Mount Cashmore of poker.

The list:

  • Doyle Brunson (no shocker)
  • Phil Hellmuth (no shocker)
  • Stu Ungar (mild shocker)
  • Chris Moneymaker (shocker)

Listen, this isn’t like the Poker Hall of Fame or something that has defined criteria, so ultimately who cares. But it’s surprising to see Ungar on there over Chip Reese, or Moneymaker instead of [insert plenty of names].

Who would you have put on the list?
