Justin Bonomo Wins 2012 EPT €100,000 Monte Carlo Super High Roller

Justin Bonomo, who attended this 2009 WSOP Bodog bowling party, captured his biggest live payday at the 2012 EPT Monte Carlo Super High Roller.

Justin Bonomo entered final table play of the 2012 EPT €100,000 Monte Carlo Super High Roller as the massive chip leader. He ended final table play with a massive pay day, capturing the title and banking €1,640,000.

Bonomo defeated Germany’s Tobias Reinkemeier (€1,064,000) heads-up for the title.

This makes only the second win of Bonomo’s live tournament career (he captured a WSOP-C event in 2009). The victory nearly doubles his career earnings, pushing him over the $5M mark.

Daniel Negreanu started final table play third overall. A win would’ve pushed Negreanu past Erik Seidel on the career live tournament earnings list, but instead he finished sixth for €310,000.

Patrik Antonius finished fourth for €443,000.

Temp Hutter did not play in the event.

WPT $100k Super High Roller Brings In 29; Bonomo, Vivik, Lindgren Lead

Erik Lindgren isn't afraid to gamble a $100k buy-in at the Bellagio, and so far he's crushing.

That was unexpected.

A couple of months ago, pre-The Events of 4/15TM when all of the online sites were whipping their dicks out in an arms race to see who could hold the highest number of high buy-in events, the WPT Championship $100,000 Super High Roller felt very me-too-ish.

Fast forward a few weeks, and this is the only super high roller event around, with none other likely on the horizon. Out of nowhere, the WPT Super High Roller is suddenly the Greg Oden of Super High Rollers.

Oh yeah, that was NSFW.

An impressive 29 registered for the WPT Championship $100k. Even more impressively, not one of those 29 were named Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan, Patrik Antonius, Andy Bloch, Gus Hansen, or any of the other usual Full Tilt suspects for these events.

Of the 29 who registered, 17 survived. Justin Bonomo ended Day 1 as chip leader, stacked at 1,837,000. Vivek Rajkumar is second with 1,628,000. And Erik Lindgren is third overall with 1,607,000.

Daniel Negreanu showed up late but built up his stack, ending play with 471,000. Erik Seidel showed up on time but ended the day short-stacked with 237,000.

Early eliminations included Phil Laak, Phil Galfond, Tony G and Dan “Jungleman” Cates.

Isildur1 Is Back at the Nosebleeds (UPDATE)

Watch Who Is ISILDUR1? on RawVegas.tv

isildur1 has made his long-awaited return to high-stakes action on Full Tilt.

In around a 30-hour session, isildur1 logged $732,753 in earnings.

And again, a good chunk of those winnings came from durrrr. In fact, the only pro that made a dent in isildur1′s bankroll during the session was Isaac Haxton, who posted a profit of around $90,000 in NLH heads-up action. From there, isildur1 decimated Justin Bonomo‘s bankroll for $567,515, and then took the aforementioned durrrr for around $232,000.

After getting in the positive against durrrr, isildur1 tried to switch games from PLO to NLH. This set off durrrr, who typed in the chat box:

ur too annoying to deal with / play for hours then the second u get up u want new game

Good stuff. Expect another flood of nosebleed action the next week until the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.

Read the full durrrr/isildur1 chat transcript and recap of isildur1′s session here.

UPDATE: Interestingly, the guy many think is isildur1, Viktor Blom, is playing the EPT Copenhagen event on Wednesday. While we’re not exactly detectives, we have watched enough Batman movies to know that if isildur1 logs a few hours of high-stakes action while Viktor Blom is playing the EPT Copenhagen event, that would probably put some rumors to rest. Follow Blom at the EPT Copenhagen event here.

UPDATE II: Looks like Blom has been eliminated (here).

Darryl Fish, Jon Turner Lead Day 1 of WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Classic

Watch Justin Bonomo at the WPT Doyle Brunson Classic and New Years Resolutions on RawVegas.tv

The 2009 WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic All-Star Spectacular got underway Monday with 292 entrants. Registration continues through level 8 today, so the field should push to over 300 when all is said and done and the math geeks who waited out Day 1 take their seats.

Darryl Fish ended Day 1 as chip leader, stacked at 236,625. He’s followed by Jon “Pearljammer” Turner, a ginger, with 227,325.

Some big names are among the other big stacks. One-time 2009 WSOP Main Event chip leader Billy Kopp is stacked at 201,325. Others include but are certainly not limited to Carlos Mortensen (194,525), Antonio Esfandiari (184,225), David Benyamine (157,225), Jimmy Fricke (145,600), and Dutch Boyd (128,225).

Justin Bonomo is among the shorter stacks, with just over 40,000. Get his take on the day in the above vlog.

Justin Bonomo Feeling It at Festa al Lago

Watch Bonomo ‘Ready to Kill It’ at WPT on RawVegas.tv

Among the bigger stacks at the WPT Festa al Lago is Justin Bonomo.

In his latest vlog, Bonomo talks about being able to register until level 8 of Day 2 in WPT events (he likes it) and if he thinks Falcon is actually more of a diabolical mastermind behind the spacecraft letting-go-hoax as opposed to a poor kid being manipulated by his father (he does).

Oh wait, the second half of that sentence wasn’t discussed by Bonomo. But he’s a smart guy, so he probably thinks that.
