Early Update: Greg Raymer Out, Lacey Jones Among Leaders on Day 1A of 2010 WSOP Main Event

Greg Raymer 2010 WSOP Main Event

Greg Raymer wasn't as focused as he usually is, busting out of the Main Event during level 1 today.

We’re nearing the end of level 2 of Day 1A at the 2010 WSOP Main Event, and the biggest news so far is Greg Raymer has been eliminated. The 2004 WSOP Main Event champ continued his bad run at the series this year (one cash?), hitting the rail mid way through the first level. In related big news, but in no way as big as Raymer, Lacey Jones, a woman, is stacked nicely with 60,000 in chips, making her among the early chipleaders. Here’s to hoping our WCP Hottest Girl In Poker can go deep this year in the Main Event. Come to think of it we can’t think of anything better than Lacey going deep.

Also among the  leaders early on is Michael “The Grinder’ Mizrachi, Issac Haxton and the amazing hair of Vince Van Patten. Among the early notable busts include 2008 November NinerTM David “Chino” Rheems, Victor Ramdin and Nick Schulman.

Notable celebs playing today include David Alan Grier, Ray Romano, NBA star Shawn Marion and double Olympic gold medalist cross-country skier Petter Northug of, you guessed it, Norway.

They’ll play  4 1/2 levels today.

Photos from today below including some of the aforementioned people, a few cute girls at the table and early Girls on the Rail

This Is Much Better

Lacey Jones 2010 WSOP

Leave it to Lacey Jones to make things better.

Good news.

Our photog from the past few years and honorary Canadian entity Newby just got into town today, and he brought his camera with him. If you don’t know him by name you know his work (instant classics Angel Girl, the Jack Links’ Beef Jerky Girls [herehere ]and Brad Garrett’s Girlfriend, to name a few). Nothing against Gluten Free Charles, who’s been busting his butt the past few weeks, but nobody can perv stalk with a Nikon like Newby. The guy’s the freakin Jacques Cousteau of Girls on the Rail.

Below are some warm-up shots he just took from today’s action including photos of Lacey Jones, Samantha Ryan, Lisa Hamilton, girl with huge rack, and another girl with huge rack (who now has a name, Alexis Gilbard – thanks Benjo).

This Wasn’t Staged. At All.

A priest, a rabbi, and Allen Chainsaw Kessler walk into a bar. The rabbi sits down and orders vodka tonic. The priest tells the bartender he doesn't like vodka and he'd prefer a scotch, aged 12 years. Allen Chainsaw Kessler hears this and tells the priest, 'you know, the blind structure in Event 12 was abominable during the middle levels...'

After the NHL Awards last night, Lacey Jones and our favorite cougar, Michele Lewis, came back to the Rio and took some completely spontaneous photos that they had absolutely no idea we were taking. None at all.

This Is A Good Ad…

Lacey Jones + Little Clothing = smart advertising

We’re not going to spend a lot of time on this one, but for future reference to all clothing/chip/gaming companies, if you want to make an effective advertising campaign, a good place to start is by putting the hottest girl in poker, Lacey Jones, wearing very little clothing on a bed and insinuating that both your apparel and Lacey are available at the stores listed underneath said photo of Lacey on a bed with little clothing.

Even if that’s not exactly what you meant to insinuate.

Carry on.
