Unless there is a huge goiter she's covering with that cap, Lisa Hamilton looks like a little poker hottie.
Amongst all the cheering and screaming that reminded us of a bunch of sorority girls reacting to the first few bars of “Come on Eileen” at a cheesy dance club, Lisa Hamilton, a woman, won the 2009 WSOP Ladies Event. This is Hamilton’s first cash in any major event. For the win, she banks $195,390. More importantly, Hamilton is kind of a babe. The 37 year-old from Hawaii proves something that 1/3 of the Entities Who Comprise Wicked Chops Poker learned years ago: chicks with Asian blood age well. The win also has other implications. With another attractive Asian on the scene, inevitably Daniel Negreanu or Barry Greenstein will end up with a new girlfriend. Don’t be surprised if Barry adds her to one of the 8 people he’s following on twitter (7 Asian chicks and Joe Sebok, that’s seriously awesome). So yeah, this one is good for pokerTM all around. Hamilton’s win is a good segue into another important topic: what females are the top 5 best looking and best tournament players on the circuit now? Give it a read here. Hindsight being the retrospective thing that it is, Maria Hoooooooooo!, Maya Antonius, and Christina Lindley all could’ve made the hot list as well. In what felt like the support group scene at the end of Jerry Maguire (“I finally got in touch with my anger!”), the money bubble just burst in the 2009 WSOP Ladies Event, and the remaining field of women all cheered and high-fived and hugged. And then a pillow fight broke out and Maria Hoooooooo! and Erica Schoenberg slowly french kissed and caressed each other in our imagination.
Still alive are the aforementioned Hooooooooooooooo!, Maridu (officially one word name now), J.J. Liu, and defending champ Svetlana “Glum Girl” Gromenkova. The aforementioned Schoenberg was KO’d right after the money bubble burst.

The 2009 WSOP Ladies Event is down to 250 or so ladies lady-ing it out for the ladies title, and among the lady leaders are a few FOWCP ladies including Maria Hoooooooooooooo!!! (31,500) and Maria “Maridu” Myrnick (31,000). Leading all the ladies is Tamara Tibbles with 41,000. If Tamara isn’t already a porn star (could that be her above?) she should be with a name like that.
Other “notables” still in include CardPlayers’ Kristy Arnett (28k), Anh Le (24k), JJ Liu (22,800), Svetlana “Glum Girl” Gromenkova (21k), Anna Wroblewski (14,500), Beth Shak (10,400), Evy Ng (10,200) and Christina Lindley (6500).
