Regardless, women, take note: this is exactly how you should dress on Christmas morning when delivering presents. Even if you and your husband have kids. Fuck it. You’re setting a good example for future generations. You’re bringing happiness. This is what Christmas is all about. Bringing happiness. And giving. And the birth of Christ the savior. Don’t forget that. Heathens.

Look who showed up when we went to Liz Lieu’s website today.

One of our favorite poker playing hotties Liz Lieu has been blogging over at PokerListings lately, and in her post today, Lieu talks about the pros and cons of blogging, namely the kind of comments people leave.

Seems that she’s been getting some unpleasant ones lately. Explains Lieu:

“Playing poker, you have to have a pretty thick skin if you are going to survive, and I think I handle the pressures of the felt as good as anyone.

I’m not sure why it is, but personal attacks on this blog in the comments are different. I don’t mind anyone disagreeing with me, giving me a better idea, or debating me. It’s just the personal things that I think are inappropriate that I find quite annoying!”

Anyway, we’re not sure why we’re sharing this with you except to say we’ve been having a blast with this Keeley Hazell RSS widget thing. The fun’s endless. Just look who appeared on our screen when we were over at Liz Lieu’s website a second ago. Not one but two Keeley Hazells. Really, you could make a whole day out of this Keeley Hazell widget. We are.

Poker player Liz Lieu looking hot in a new photo

Liz Lieu is an obvious pick for Girl on Girl at the 2008 WSOP. The girl is smokin’ hot, super funny and plays poker like a pro.  OK, so she is a pro poker player but just because someone is a pro poker player doesn’t necessarily mean they play like a pro poker player. 

Lieu was an easy interview as she always has something enlightening or funny to say.  I had a chance to catch up about her experiences this year in poker, life and the 2008 WSOP.  And of course… and how much she likes to read Wicked Chops Poker.

EPT Polish Open: Scandis, Krauts, US Americans on Top, Poles Not So Much

Day 2 at the EPT Polish Open is a go in the country that gave us kielbasa, polka and the gargantuanly breasted Ewa Sonnet (above), and among the top 10 in chips at the Casinos Poland are four Scandinavians, three U.S. Americans, two Germans and one Spaniard.

It’s Robert Flink from Ikea-land who started the day as the chip leader with 113,300, and Dan Pedersen, from the land of hot girls on bikes, sat down with the second most, 98,500.

Apparently and surprisingly our math was correct yesterday, and the total prize pool for the EPT Polish Open is 7,180,000 Polish Zloty (about 2 million euros). First place will walk with 2,154,000 Polish Zloty (609,782 euros). Second place gets less.

Unlike the EPT Copenhagen, in which Danes dominated the field in both numbers and overall success, the Poles, well, not so much. Of the 359 players who started, less than 10% were from Joanna Krupa-land. Strikingly, not one Pole appeared to be in the top 50 at the start of play today and only six or so are still in.

So what are we getting at? Poles kind of suck at poker.

UPDATE: Irish poker pro Andy Black, who started the day near the bottom of the top 20 in chips, is steamrolling the field like hooker-banger Eliot Spitzer once steamrolled white collar criminals and is now near the top of the chip count with 110,400 at the first break of the day, according to PokerStars Blog. Meanwhile Day 1 chipleader Robert Flink has disappeared from the field, and the new chipleader is Kosta Anastasyadi from Holland, a country where Spitzer could get his Ashley Alexandra Dupre on legally.

Players who’ve busted today include Johnny Lodden, Mel Judah, Dan Ryan, Casey Kastle, Marc Goodwin and the lovely Liz Lieu, a woman.

World Poker Tour Goes to City of Fictitious Girlfriends for Latest Tournament; John Juanda Leads

Header1_1On the heels of last week’s Festa al Lago tournament won by Andreas Walnum, the World Poker Tour has headed off to Canada, Niagara Falls to be exact, for the North American Poker Championship at the Fallsview Casino Resort.

This raises two important points:

1) Since when has Canada been part of North America? Doesn’t the continent of the United States solely make up North America? Our lesser neighbors down south, Mexico, are part of South America, and Canada is part of Eskimoland or something, we thought. Time to hit the old geography books again.

2) Niagara Falls is home to more fictitious girlfriends than any other city in the world. First popularized in the movie The Breakfast Club when dorky Brian claimed to have rabbit-danced with a girl in the region, a few years later an old subdivision acquaintance of Chops claimed to have not one, but two girlfriends (at the same time) in the famed location (true story). And this was long after The Breakfast Club came out. And his mom backed up the story. Chops would go further on this story, but this acquaintance got really into martial arts in college and would sit out on the front porch of his fraternity house into the wee hours of the night just in case a rival fraternity would try and do something vandalous to the house so he could pounce and attack (unfortunately, also a true story), and he is afraid for his life just for mentioning this whole ordeal.

John Juanda leads the North American Poker Championship, stacked at 205,500. Famed historian Steven Ambrose might be second, stacked at 138,000. You never know with these chip counts. We do know that Team Bodog online qualifier, Kevin Monghan of Gainesville, FL, who plays under the name Ship It Sir, is in or near the top 5 with 114,800. Tao of Poker fave Liz Lieu is also stacked.
