Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle Perform Live on This Week In Poker

The latest ep of This Week in Poker is up. Watch above or on YouTube here, or download/subscribe on iTunes. Thanks to our sponsors StormOnDemand.comPokerVT.com and Full Tilt Poker’s Doubles Poker Championship on GSN.

Former WSOP Last Women Standing and Amazing Race stars Tiffany Michelle, a woman, and Maria Ho, a woman, joined us in the studio yesterday for a “spirited discussion” about the 2010 WSOP Main Event final table, what to make of Jonathan Duhamel‘s win for poker both here and in Canada, Joseph “Subiime” Cheong‘s blow-up (or was it not a blow-up?), Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi‘s 5th place finish and what can the World Series do to improve its TV broadcasts next year.

Also, for the first time ever, Maria and Tiffany perform a song live on our show, and as viewer “rawwolf” noted, it seemed liked a dream Vanessa Selbst would have. Get right to the song here.

Finally, the show ends with another great PokerVT strategy session (starts here), this time featuring pro Jason Somerville answering viewer questions and breaking down Jonathan Duhamel’s now-infamous hands against both Matt Affleck and subiime.

Thanks to all who thanked Full Tilt’s Doubles Poker Championship and PokerVT via Twitter for sponsoring This Week In Poker. If you haven’t done so yet, please do by tweeting:

Josh Arieh, Gavin Smith, Jason Mercier Still Among Leaders at WPT World Poker Finals

Gavin Smith and Maria Ho are still sitting pretty at the WPT World Poker Finals and WSOP South Africa Main Event, respectively.

They’re just a few shy of the money at the WPT Foxwords World Poker Finals.

The starting field of 242! has played down to 28, with 25 making the so-called “money.”

Leading the way going into Day 4 is Chris Hunichen with 714,000. He’s followed by Nikolai Yakovenko with 580,000. And he’s followed by Josh Arieh with 548,500.

Plenty of other big names remain who won’t make the TV final table, including Jason Mercier (342,000), Gavin Smith (307,500), Tom Marchese (249,000), Hoyt Corkins (239,000), and Sorel Mizzi (238,500).

Our new revised TV final table predictions include some old names and some new: Bryon Springer, Besnik Ziba (can you WPT reporting team folks get a pic of this guy on the site already?) Gerard Kane, Nikolai Yakovenko, Jeff Forrest, and Bob Courtney.

Get full chip counts here.

In semi-related tournament news, Daniel Negreanu still has the chip lead (albeit slim) at the EPT Vienna with six remaining. A win here, and Negreanu leaps into poker immortality by securing the Triple CrownTM. The win would also make him poker’s all time top tournament money winner, passing Phil Ivey by around 100,000 (see here). Follow the action live here.

In semi-semi related tournament news, Maria Ho is still alive at the WSOP South Africa Main Event. According to her Twitter account and nothing else, she’s sixth out of the eight remaining stacks. Follow Maria’s Twitter here.

In related news to our semi-related news, learn how to play poker like Daniel Negreanu (and others) by signing up for a PokerVT account by clicking the below banner and entering special promotional code TWIP10.

Other notable big stacks include Joe Sebok, Soi Nguyen, and Maria Ho.

John Caridad Leads WPT Bellagio Cup Final Table

Maria Ho WPT Bellagio Cup

Maria Ho (above) and Paola Martin almost made it a Double Rainbow final table at the WPT Bellagio Cup.

The WPT Bellagio Cup VI is down to its TV final table with Australian John Caridad way out in front with 5,120,000 in chips. He’s followed by Season 5 EPT Deauville winner Moritz Kranich of Germany with 2,715,000.

Justin “BoostedJ” Smith, who freakishly tore his ACL during last year’s Bellagio Open final table while celebrating a hand, is impressively back among the final six, stacked the third most with 2,100,000.

And despite going out early at the 2010 WSOP Main Event, causing poker fans everywhere to wonder “Is he not that good anymore?,” Phil Ivey has made his record-setting ninth WPT final table. He’ll start today with 1,595,000.

Not making the final table but coming oh so close to making it the hottest final table in poker history was 2008 WSOP Last Woman StandingTM Maria Ho, a woman, and hot-with-an-accent Paola Martin, a woman. The two finished 10th and 11th respectively. Double Rainbow.

Finally, creepy Rick Salomon got an 11-hour massage yesterday, and in related news, went out in 9th.

Get full final table chip counts and follow the final table today here. Twitpics from yesterday when they were down to 2 tables here and here.
