Ashton Griffin Wins 2010 NAPT High Roller Bounty Shootout

Joanna Krupa

Our favorite kind of Joanna Krupa photo spread

We’ll give the Joanna Krupa-hosted NAPT kick off event at the Venetian a little more love. Mainly for the sake of posting the above pic of Joanna Krupa.

And sharing this link.

So yeah, as the headline above subtly reveals, Ashton Griffin took down the $25,000 buy-in High-Roller Bounty Shootout, beating out a final table that included Hoyt CorkinsJoe Cassidy, Scott Seiver, Faraz “No Fly List” Jaka, Brett Richey and Peter Eastgate.

In case you missed it, the event was an invite-only shootout with seven tables featuring mostly big name pros. Players got $5k bounties for each player they knocked out and an extra $75k for winning their table. The player with the most bounties grabbed an extra $100,000. In the end that honor went to Scott Seiver who impressively busted the 6 other players at his first table and two more at the final table.

Here’s the order of finish, final payouts and number of bounties for each player.

1. Ashton Griffin – $560,000 (6)
2. Hoyt Corkins – $100,000 (5)
3. Joe Cassidy – $95,000 (4)
4. Scott Seiver – $215,000 (8)
5. Faraz Jaka – $95,000 (4)
6. Brett Richey – $90,000 (3)
7. Peter Eastgate – $85,000 (2)

The Joanna Krupa-Hosted NAPT Main Event Won By Tom Marchese

Where is Joanna Krupa in this picture?

We regret not making it to more of the 2010 NAPT Venetian Main Event. First class event, huge turn-out, and Joanna Krupa was there. We’d blame all of this on visa issues, except we were within a 10 mile radius of the event. So we’ll blame it on cocaine.

While the Main Event itself had some big names go deep, the final table was a fairly friends and family affairTM.

Thomas Marchese took the title, making his first major tourney cash and banking $827,648. He defeated Sam Stein heads-up for the title.

Miami” John Cernuto finished seventh.

Get a full rundown of the event here.

In semi-related news, the $25,000 NAPT High-Stakes Shoot-Out final table is Thursday at 2pm PST. At the table are Scott Seiver, Hoyt Corkins, Faraz Jaka, Joe Cassidy, Brett Richey, Peter Eastgate, and Ashton Griffin. Follow the action here.

You’re Not So Bad Yourself…

Clearly, this whole Joanna Krupa working with PokerStars is a good thing for us...

Ok, while PokerStars didn’t let us break that Joanna Krupa was going to be the host of their newly launched NAPT, they did do a pretty cool thing by sending us the following pics.

As far as “make goods” go, this was solid. Well played.

Joanna Krupa to Host PokerStars NAPT

You wouldn't even let us leak this, PokerStars? Come on...

In a story we will probably never forgive PokerStars for not letting us break (seriously guys?), Joanna Krupa has been announced as host of their North American Poker Tour.

The latest tour in PokerStars’ quest for world domination will obviously take place in North America, or as we like to call it, “America.”

The PCA (going on now, follow here) is apparently now part of the NAPT, as will the Main Event of the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza next month.

Krupa, who was Wicked Chops’ first official Girl of the Year back in 2006 (later to be joined by Keeley Hazell and Vikki Blows), recently was a celeb guest on PokerStars’ Million Dollar Challenge and endorsed us (sort of) for Best Poker Blog.

Thanks to F-Train for the tip here. Read more about the NAPT on Otis’ PokerStars blog here.
