Courts Rule Poker “Game of Skill” in South Carolina

Back in the day when we used to care about Anna Benson, five guys from South Carolina were arrested for playing poker...

A long time ago when we first started this site, five guys in South Carolina were arrested when “authorities” discovered that they were playing a game of poker, breaking an old law that outlawed cards and dice in the state.

Now, a South Carolina court has ruled that poker is a game of skill. Whether or not that ruling does the five dudes arrested any good is unknown, but hey, those are the kind of details we don’t particularly pay attention to anyway.

Says the PPA:

“All poker players are well aware that the game is based on making the correct, informed decisions, not just mere chance, and games of predominant skill should not be classified in the same league as slot machines or lotteries.

Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho on The Amazing Race (Ep. 3)

Ok, they’re not letting you embed the full video. So we gotta go with the above clip, which we picked because we might do a drinking game next week where after every time Tiffany Michelle says, “like,” you take a shot.

In related news, we may die of alcohol poisoning next week.

If you missed the full episode and do want to watch it, go here.

Poker Pros Tiffany Michelle & Maria Ho Survive Ep. 1 of The Amazing Race

Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho made a big comeback to stay alive on Episode 1 of The Amazing Race last night.

Behind the scenes, the two played up their mental toughness as poker pros and ability to manipulate games as a distinct edge they’d have over the competition. But once the grueling competition started, that kinda went by the wayside. They also tried to keep their professions under wraps, but someone recognized TM at an airport and within 24 hours, their cover was blown.

Much like Annie Duke had Joan Rivers to foil her more abrasive on-camera persona on The Celebrity Apprentice, Tiffany Michelle has a good foil in this total douchebag lawyer guy. So that’s good.

Regardless, glad to see the girls make it through. But if this week is any indication, it might be a rough go of it for Michelle and Ho. Above is their post-race interview.

What do you think of the episode? How did TM and Hooooooo! rep themselves? Comment away…

The Amazing Race: Tiffany Michelle & Maria Ho Video Preview

“They’ve” put up the video “get-to-know-ya” interview of Tiffany Michelle and Maria Hooooooooo! for The Amazing Race.

Typically when we hear a sentence begin with, “There’s a new video of Tiffany and Maria…” we like to hear that sentence end with something like, “removing their clothes and kissing,” so from that perspective, the above clip is a bit disappointing. Apparently we need to teach the people at The Amazing Race a thing or two about viral videos.

Thanks to Pokerati for the find.
