Jack Links Beef Jerky Will Remain the Juiciest Jerky at the WSOP Through 2012

In our opinion, Jack Links Beef Jerky is the 226! of poker advertisers.

Ok, if any press release deserved the 226! treatment, it’s this one.

Jack Links Beef Jerky will remain a “presenting” sponsor at the World Series of Poker through 2012. This is huge news for the industry, as it shows that poker is a viable option to promote your brand to mainstream advertisers allows for us to post pictures of the back-rear portion of hot girls standing by the Jack Links signage for at least two more years.

Says WSOP VP Ty Stewart in the following copy & paste from the press release job:

“This remains a great fit between two category-leading brands…We couldn’t ask for a better organization to be our lead sponsor*. We love being with a market dominator that shares our sense of fun and irreverence.”

The release goes on to say that “Jack Link’s, the No. 1 U.S. brand of beef jerky and the fastest-growing meat snack manufacturer worldwide, leads the nearly $3 billion meat snack category,” to which we giggled twice at the usage of the words “meat snack.” Let’s just say we’ve offered a “meat snack” to the ladies on more than a few occasions.

In all seriousness, read more about the partnership (file this under Good for PokerTM) here. See more reasons why Jack Links Beef Jerky is the tastiest jerky around here, here, and here.

* Except maybe Budweiser, Coca Cola, McDonalds, IBM, or Cici’s Pizza where you can get an all you can eat buffet for just $3.99…$3.99!…go all-in at Cici’s Pizza!

Matt Savage on WSOP Europe Bracelets: Not Like A Real Bracelet

Matt-Savage-WPT

Matt Savage joined us on This Week In Poker live from the WPT Borgata last Tuesday.

We never ever pick favorites. Never. Ever.

With that said, our interview with Matt Savage last Tuesday on This Week In Poker was our favorite so far. Lots of solid topics covered, and great questions submitted from our viewers, including one from Jay “WhoJedi” Newnum on whether WSOP bracelets should be awarded outside of Vegas.

“I don’t like it,” said Savage. “I don’t think it’s like a real bracelet.”

Savage continued, “World Series of Poker was founded in Las Vegas. That’s kinda what it’s about.”

Listen to his full response here and tell us what you think about bracelets awarded outside of Las Vegas in the comments below.

Other topics covered with Matt Savage included:

:: Whether Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler has ever suggested something he has agreed with [watch]

:: The rumor about the Rio being sold and where the WSOP may be moving to next [watch]

:: Streaming final tables online [watch]

:: The Commerce Casino’s controversial stance on HR 2267 [watch]

:: The Royal Flush Girls [watch]

:: Favorite change with the new season of the WPT [watch]

Sexting Joslyn James Says She Worked for the WSOP

She definitely wasn't a dealer...

When we first read about the Sexting Joslyn James website, it was flooded with so much traffic that “one” couldn’t actually access it unless you had more patience to wait around for it to load than we did.

However, today isn’t so much of an issue.

Along with the awesomely awesome Tiger Woods sexts on the page, Joslyn also lists her resume. Here you go:

Her extensive career in the mainstream limelight has included numerous, high profile television shows, magazine and promotional appearances including: E! Entertainment TV, The Travel Channel, Dr. 90210, Sin City Diaries, Elimi-Date, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, World Series of Poker, 944 Magazine and Las Vegas Weekly to name just a few.

We can only assume here WSOP gig involved the Gaming Life Expo, but does anyone recall ever seeing her around?

Visit Sexting Joslyn James (surprisingly it’s SFW unless you count the texts about Tiger wanting to do anal then getting blown to be NSFW) here.

EXCLUSIVE: Jeffrey Pollack Parting Interview – Part I, II, III (UPDATE)

Watch Interview With Former WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack Part 1 on RawVegas.tv

We caught up with Jeffrey Pollack for what was supposed to be a final vlog but quickly turned into a 60 Minutes style interview. Turns out after four years as WSOP commish, there was a lot of ground to cover.

So we headed to the new home of the WSOP (breaking news here), the Pavilion Center in the Rio, where Pollack, who has always been good to the so-called poker “media,” was cool enough to give us his only video interview. Part I (above) covers why he decided to leave and what role (if any) new boss Mitch Garber played in that decision.

Parts II & III (coming soon) cover accomplishments, disappointments, wtf he would’ve done had both Shulman’s captured the Main Event crowns, and of course, what he’s going to do with all of this free time on his hands.

UPDATE: WITH PART II

Jeffrey Pollack Out as WSOP Commish

Jeffrey Pollack oversaw tremendous growth with the WSOP since he took over as commissioner in 2006.

Jeffrey Pollack oversaw tremendous growth with the WSOP since he took over as commissioner in 2006.

Harrah’s announced today that Jeffrey Pollack is “leaving [his] post” as WSOP commissioner.

Prior to serving as WSOP commish, Pollack was Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Communications for the NBA and Managing Director of Broadcasting and New Media for NASCAR Digital Entertainment. He was hired by Harrah’s in 2005 as a VP of Marketing and was elevated to President and Commissioner of the WSOP in 2006.

Under Pollack’s guidance, WSOP attendance has grown 88%. He’s also overseen the launch of the WSOP Europe, Poker Hall of Fame induction ceremony, $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. championship, Ante Up for Africa charity event, and of course, the November NineTM.

Of course, Pollack was also a vlogging, blogging, twittering fiend who was always looking for new technological innovations to reach the poker audience.

Go below the fold for more detailed information on growth during Pollack’s tenure. Go to Pokerati here for other additional info.

We expect to do an exit vlog with Pollack later today. Check back this afternoon.
