World Poker Tour and FSN Doing Lots of Corporatey Things

A couple weeks ago the World Poker Tour announced its broadcasting partnership with FSN (watch our interview with Steve Lipscomb here).

Today they have announced a broader partnership full of synergies and value adds and probably ROIs and bottomlines and ducks in a row and we’re gonna have to take a nap after THAT lunch with the media giant.

According to their press release, this collaboration will start in September "with the creation of a television series based on WPTEs subscription and sweepstakes game offering,"

It continues:

Each week, players will have multiple chances to win a seat in the TV series by playing in poker and blackjack tournaments on Weekly episodes telecast nationally on FSN will feature a new final table with members battling it out on the felt for cash prizes.

It goes on to say stuff about marriages, relationships, energies and resources. Read the full press release here.

In more interesting news, that graphic above has Kimberly Lansing in it. Is that a good sign that we’ll see more of her in the near future?

If you look long enough on the WPT site (> 20 seconds), they still have Layla Kayleigh on the site.

I have to say I’m very excited about the WPT and FSN deal. I think it’s absolutely wicked for poker.
As for Kimberly, “yes” that is a good sign. And she’s a cutie too.
    Hmmmm, I’m thinking maybe….

While the WPT site continues to include plenty of Layla graphics, the Club WPT site seems to focus solely on Kimberly Lansing.
FYI, has traditionally used images of whichever hostess was appearing on fresh episodes of the TV show, rather than the “current” hostess of the live tournaments. So there were Courtney graphics up during much of Sabina’s reign, and Sabina graphics up during much of Layla’s reign.
Like Michele and the Entities, I take this as a good sign that K-Lans might be returning to host final tables. (Damn you, Ali Nejad, for getting that nickname stuck in my head!)
DISCLAIMER: While I work for the WPT as a tournament reporter, I have *zero* inside knowledge of this situation. This is all speculation on my part.
