A couple of noteworthy events are wrapping up on the poker circuit this week.

First, the 2013 WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Poker Classic All-Star Mega Spectacular (WPTDBFDPCASMS) dialed back the clock to 2009 and brought in an impressive total field of 449 entries.

This produced something that doesn’t happen much anymore: we will have a newly minted WPT millionaire.

Good vibes all around with the¬†WPTDBFDPCASMS. Poker Royalty held their 10 year anniversary party on Friday. It’s always a good thing to see industry types come together to celebrate and build-up as opposed to bitch and tear-down. Good party. Well deserved.

Carrying on the good vibes is a loaded final field. As of post-time, 46 remain, with the likes of Scotty Nguyen, Mike Sexton, Dan O’Brien, John Hennigan, Will Failla, Sorel Mizzi, Jean Robert-Bellande, Joe Serock, Dan Smith, and Brian Rast still alive.

Only four remain at post-time, and first banks over $150k.
