WPT Grand Prix de Paris Brings In Big Numbers

On the (very) short list of things that don't suck about France: Jennifer Lamiraqui (above), ElkY, and the turn-out for the WPT Grand Prix de Paris.

Just like the WSOP, we can now safely say that The Events of 4/15TM did not kick World Poker Tour squarely in the nuts.

An impressive total of 312 entered the WPT Grand Prix de Paris, creating a first place prize of $729,886.

After two days of play, only 61 remain. Leading the way is Franck Pepe with 432,000. Among the notables remaining include McLean Karr (323,400), Guillaume Darcourt (i.e. the Frenchy from the WSOP Main Event with the pink hair – 207,000), and Joe Cassidy (178,900).

Hichem Ben Halima of the Halima family has 139,000.
