WPT Southern Poker Championship: Ryan Hughes Leads; Shorr, Corkins Still Alive

This is more along the lines of what Shannon Shorr should look like...

They’re in the money at the WPT Southern Poker Championship.

A total of 19 remain, with Ryan Hughes (1,014,000) taking the chip lead into Day 4 play. Hughes is possibly one of the most anonymous two-time WSOP bracelet winners on the circuit. Maybe it’s the name. He’s followed by Alexander Kuzmin with 785,000.

In third overall is a man still looking for his first WPT title is Shannon Shorr, a woman, with 593,000. Hoyt Corkins (258,000), the original “jungleman” (sort of) Leif Force (182,500), and Chad Brown (88,500) are also still alive.

Seriously guys, don’t you think this “Shannon Shorr, a woman” thing is getting a bit old? and perhaps more than a bit silly? In case you are wondering, no, I’m not him nor do I even know him. I just can’t help thinking how would you feel if someone kept putting “a woman” after your name? How would a woman feel to see “a man” after her name?

While we’re at it, I think the “spectacularly breasted JC Tran” ought to go the way of the dodo too. At least we haven’t heard it for a while. I mean if these things were funny that would be one thing, but…

OK that’s all for now. :-P
